The financial planning process typically involves 3-4 client meetings, allowing your adviser to understand you better, collaborate on potential financial strategies, and ultimately present you with the final advice recommendation. These meetings also provide a valuable opportunity for you to get to know your adviser and ensure a good match for working together in the future. Below is a brief overview of the process and purpose of different meetings.
Discovery Phone Call – A quick 15-minute chat to discuss your current situation and requirements. This is also a great opportunity for you to ask any urgent or important questions that you may have.
Initial Client Meeting – The first formal meeting focuses on delving deeper into discussions about you, your needs, and your future goals. During this meeting, your adviser will offer an overview of the areas they provide financial advice on, outline the steps in the process, and share examples of how they’ve recently assisted clients in similar situations.
Strategy Meeting/s – Depending on the complexity, this could involve either a single or multiple meetings to work through potential financial strategies, provide feedback on existing superannuation, investments, budgets, and insurances, and develop the financial plan that is suitable for you.
Advice Presentation – As the name suggests, this meeting is the final step in the initial advice process, where you will receive your personally-tailored Financial Planning Strategy. Consider it the final piece of the planning puzzle, as your adviser delivers a document outlining all their recommendations for implementing to achieve your goals.
Ongoing Advice Service - After the advice has been presented and implemented, you’ll be enrolled in our Ongoing Advice Service. Life can change rapidly, so it’s important for many clients that we catch up regularly to review the strategy and get an update on your situation.
